Rental policies
Payment
- Booking 5+ days before your rental — pay 50% at booking. We email you a secure payment link for the remaining 50% exactly 48 hours before your rental starts (e.g. Wednesday morning for a Friday rental).
- Booking within 4 days — pay 100% online at booking. Nothing else due at pickup.
If you cancel
All tiers: cancel 72+ hours before rental → 90% back.
- Small rentals (kayaks, paddleboards, pedal boats) — within 72 hours: 70% back (we retain 30%).
- Jet skis & pontoons — within 72 hours: 80% back (we retain 20%).
If Clemson Lake Boats cancels your booking
We may cancel a booking at any time (weather, equipment issue, safety, etc.). Your refund depends on how close we are to your rental start:
- Within 24 hours of rental start — full refund of all amounts paid.
- Between 24 and 72 hours before rental — 80% refund of amounts paid. We retain 20% to cover scheduling and prep costs.
By equipment type
- Small rentals: Paid in full at booking. If we cancel between 24 and 72 hours before your rental, you receive 80% of your payment back.
- Jet skis: Paid in full at booking. If we cancel between 24 and 72 hours before your rental, you receive 80% of your payment back (we retain 20%).
- Pontoons: Paid in full at booking. If we cancel between 24 and 72 hours before your rental, you receive 80% of your payment back (we retain 20%).

When to arrive
Arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and a safety briefing — especially busy on football weekends.
What to bring
- Valid government-issued photo ID
- Booking confirmation (email or confirmation code)
- Sunscreen, towels, and water
- Cooler and ice for lake days

Requirements
Valid ID required for all power rentals. Operators must meet age and safety requirements for the equipment type. Life jackets are included with every rental.
